ADACare Allied Health Professionals<\/a> aim to diagnose and treat a range of conditions and illnesses and prevent. ADACare Allied Health Professionals often work within a multidisciplinary professional health team to provide the best patient outcomes.<\/div>\n

ADACare Allied Health Professionals is a term used to describe the broad range of health professionals other than doctors or nurses. Whilst ADACare Allied Health Professionals are prevalent in almost all branches of healthcare, some of the more common sectors where you will see allied health professionals are in aged care, chronic disease, disability, mental health, exercise and sport, rehabilitative care and muskulo-skeletal health.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In Australia, Allied health professionals represent almost a third of the Australian Health workforce. Over 183,000 allied health professionals registered with APHRA in 2017\/18, an 3.5% increase from 2016\/17, and the industry is continuing to experience significant growth.<\/span><\/div>\n

There are many professions which are serving under ADACare\u00a0 Allied Health, including but not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Psychologist<\/a> <\/strong>\u2013 Studies, treats and evaluates mental and behavioural processes.<\/p>\n

Social Worker<\/strong> \u2013 Helps people deal with personal and social issues through counselling, community engagement, advocacy and various programmes.<\/p>\n

Occupational Therapist<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Assist people with illness or disability to develop or maintain daily living and work skills.<\/p>\n

Physiotherapist<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Focuses on the diagnosis, management and prevention of movement disorders and injury<\/p>\n

Speech Pathologist<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 Assess and treat patients who have a communication disability. Speech pathologists may also work with patients who have trouble swallowing.<\/p>\n

Audiologist<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Assessment, treatment and prevention of hearing and balance disorders.<\/p>\n

Chiropractor<\/strong> \u2013 Diagnose and treat physiological and mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system.<\/p>\n

Dietitian<\/strong> \u2013 Advises patients on nutrition for health, weight management or for specific medical conditions.<\/p>\n

Exercise Physiologist<\/strong> \u2013 Focuses on therapy and rehabilitation of injury, chronic disease and disability through exercise.<\/p>\n

Medical Imaging Professionals<\/strong> \u2013 Including\u00a0radiographers,\u00a0sonographers\u00a0and\u00a0radiologists.<\/p>\n

Osteopath<\/strong> \u2013 Works with manipulation of the musculoskeletal system to treat and prevent injury.<\/p>\n

Orthotist<\/strong> \u2013 Prescribe, design and fit braces and other devices to aid mobility and rehabilitation, correct deformity and relieve discomfort.<\/p>\n

Perfusionist<\/strong> \u2013 Operates a range of machinery during surgery (and in ICU) to monitor a patients physiological status.<\/p>\n

Pharmacist\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Prepare, dispense and manufacture medicines and advise on their appropriate use. Pharmacists may also work in a research capacity.<\/p>\n

Podiatrist<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 Treats conditions of the feet and lower limbs.<\/p>\n
