Many of those SDoH categories cross lines, and what we as an industry realized is that the blurred lines of SDoH factors can be co-dependent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"overflow-wrap: break-word; margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.6; word-break: break-word; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; color: #373a3c; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400;\">But we also recognize that co-existing factors present multiple barriers to care, not only access to care but the equity of care: one of those is access to reliable, convenient transportation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"overflow-wrap: break-word; margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.6; word-break: break-word; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; color: #373a3c; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400;\">\u201cTransportation barriers are often cited as barriers to healthcare access,\u201d according to the&nbsp;<a style=\"color: blue; text-decoration-line: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4265215\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">Journal of Community Health<\/a>. \u201cTransportation barriers can lead to rescheduled or missed appointments, delayed care and missed or delayed medication use. These consequences may lead to poorer management of chronic illness and thus poorer health outcomes.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"rounded-3xl overflow-hidden my-12 shadow-soft border border-border\/60\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blogs\/b-p2-48\/img-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"w-full h-auto object-cover max-h-[600px]\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"prose-content\">\n<p style=\"overflow-wrap: break-word; margin-bottom: 1rem; line-height: 1.6; word-break: break-word; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; color: #373a3c; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400;\">In addition, the same study found that when transportation barriers are eliminated, we&nbsp;<a style=\"color: blue; text-decoration-line: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4265215\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\">have a good chance of improving<\/a>&nbsp;health access and equity.
